We are pleased to announce the addition of Britt Rynearson as a member of The Greenwood Collective. Her textile design work is impressively bright, elegant, and energetic. Her work is sold nationwide in galleries and boutiques as well as top trade shows. She is trained in the Japanese shibori tradition of texturing silk and uses that craft to create shawls, jackets and installation sculpture. A bit of high fashion and high art will enrich the diverse Collective crew.
For a brief look at Britt’s bold designs, please view more information here.
Create for a Cause has a project underway in Rwanda led by philanthropist Chrissie Lam. She has facilitated a collaborative effort between artists, designers, and activists to create positive change and is working with the Gisimba Orphanage as her first partnered organization.
The past stories told here of the orphans who suffered from the genocide are mournful, while their future is inspiring, and beyond deserving of this effort.
The Create for a Cause vision is an impressive blend of international philanthropy, visual design, and entrepreneurial marketing and is one that I hope continues to grow and reach out to other causes around the world.
I am troubled to have just learned that Nau has announced that it can no longer sustain its business practices due to the uncertain and locked down investment market.
They have included this letter on the home page of their site informing the public of this news:
In an effort to continue fundraising efforts after our event, we’ve made tee shirts available to order online. Please forward this link to anyone looking for a fun way to support the Tiny Toones.
